The Jet Bike is the brainchild of Ted McIntyre III from Marine Turbine Technologies (MTT). He had a customer come to him with an open cheque to build him a jet turbine motorcycle. Ted responded with what you see here today a totally custom-built motorcycle with a C18 Rolls Royce Allison Jet Turbine Engine from a Bell Jet Ranger Helicopter.
This is one of the most incredible motorcycles ever made. It has 320 horsepower, 425 ft pounds of torque. It is capable of speeds of over 400 kms an hour or your money back.
That’s putting money where your mouth is, guaranteeing the performance and this performance is what got it into the Guinness World Book of Records as the worlds fastest and most expensive motorcycle.
There are less than 30 examples of this motorcycle in the world and the most famous owner is Jay Leno from the Tonight Show. Jay has more miles on his Jet Bike than anyone else, he rides it quite regularly and is also famous for melting the front bumper bar off a car that just got a little too close.

When asked, Jay Leno says that the sensation you get when riding the Jet Bike is like the Hand of God pushing you along, and Johnny Gee from Naked Racer Moto Co agrees. From 200 km/h to 400 km/h it leaves a black line on the road such as the acceleration. Other statistics are the motor idles at 5200 RPM. It has a 2-speed electronic gear box and it also has a full fadex engine management system which manages the starting of the engine, carbon fibre wheels and body work. An LCD Screen on the dash which is linked to a rearward facing camera. So rear vision mirrors are not required.
An interesting fact, more people have been to outer space than having ridden a Jet Bike.
The Jet Bike on display at Antique Motorcycles has been owned by Johnny Gee since 2010.
Johnny wanted to buy this bike in particular as it was involved in a drag race between an L39 Russian Fighter Jet and this Bike was ridden by Superbike Stunt Rider (James Kane), and the Bike beat the Jet very convincingly from a standing start and gave the Fighter Jet a very generous head start which makes more famous than most; check out the links below.
