Fabrique Nationale is a Belgian company established in 1889 to make arms and ammunition. They made their first car in 1899 and their first motorcycle in 1902, the first four cylinder model motorcycle which is this bike here at Naked Racer Moto Co was made in 1905.
The FN 1905 Motorcycle (Fabrique Nationale) was very, very advanced for its time. This motorcycle boasts front suspension safety rims, 4-cylinder engine with shaft drive and a one lever halting device which lifted the valves on the engine and applied a secondary brake to the rear wheel.
It is incredible to think that in 1905 a motorcycle had one lever to make it stop in an emergency.
This bike was discovered by the Naked Racer Moto Co Team in a museum in Sale, Victoria in 2019 and was promptly purchased and put into our private collection.
At writing this article this is the only known example in the world and is in running condition, all original and never restored.
