The Jetsons came about in 2011 when VW Kombi enthusiasts Tom Portelli (drums) and Brad Wells (bass) discovered they’d played in bands when they were younger, (a fair bit younger) and casually suggested having a play one day. Two years later, Tom runs into the guitarists he’d played with back in the day and the Jetsons were born. Albeit without a singer.
After nearly two years of rehearsing a repertoire without a singer, enter career backing-vocalist Donna McConville.
Donna studied in Canada and has worked as a backing vocalist with the Farnham Band, Ronnie Charles, Thunderbirds are Go and toured with Andrew Farrell “The Wizard” pianist.
Sadly in 2018, Tom passed and Ramon Azola (ex The Vagrants) joined the band as drummer. Until then Ramon had toured the US and Europe with The Vagrants.
Guitarists Richie Kurz and Luke Whelan played in Melbourne bands Ron’s Operation and Fatal Attraction with late drummer and founding member Tom Portelli.
Bassist Brad Wells played with original band Dealer who toured the Eastern states extensively back in the 80’s.
The Jetsons play a diverse range of covers from Talking Heads to Free to The Pretenders to ZZ Top and everything in between as well as some of the almost essential standards.
Band starts at 9pm. Entry fee payable at the door.
5pm – 8:30pm Dinner Only (no entry fee)
7:30pm – 1am Dinner & Live Music
$10 Entry if you have dinner with us (entry fee will be added to your bill)
Live Music Only
$20 Entry for Live music only (payable at the door on arrival)
